Force Connection

This blog post is going to be about about force connection, combining 2 or more objects together to create another new object.

There are a lot of innovators in this world, creating things that we use in out daily lives, to make our lives easier. An obvious object will be our mobile phones.

Mobile phones are created with many applications in it which includes calculator, mp3, video calling, camera..etc, which it's supposed to fulfil the basic function of calling and texting.

For our class, exercise, we have to think of 3 objects in everyday lives that have force connections.
One if things I thought of would be heelys, which I have it in my house.

There is a wheel underneath a shoe where the wheels can be taken out and the shoe can be worn as a normal walking shoes as well.

2nd example will be the radio clock in my room.

This radio clock not only shows us time, and plays songs on the radio, we can also set alarm so we won't be late for school or work.

Last example is my childhood favourite pen, bubble-chop ball point pen. On the top is a chop, the middle with bubbles and bottom, ball point pen.

From this exercise, I have to observe my surroundings really carefully and think very hard of the objects that have force connections that are not commonly see everywhere.

Analogical Thinking 2

Hello everyone! How's your day been so far? I hope it's fine. This post, I'll be blogging about what I've learnt in my lesson for analogical thinking- similes and metaphors.
http://www.playrific.com/images/media/vim1similes.jpg

Similes are a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid. For example, 'Amanda is as graceful as a swan'. For this one, I'm implying that Amanda, is graceful like a swan using '...as...as' to compare both things because they have a similarity.

One more example to give you a clearer picture of what simile is. 'Ben is as busy as a bee'. Bees are one of the busiest living thing because they work non stop to retrieve more honey.

Metaphors are a figure of speech in which an expression is used to refer to something that it does not literally denote in order to suggest a similarity.
In metaphors, we is '...is...'
An example will be 'Claudia is a shining star in our class.' This suggests that Claudia is very famous in our class, directly saying she is a shining star to emphasize and make it more impactful.

The whole class was tested on similes and metaphors as the teacher wanted to check on our understanding. I would say that similes and metaphors are indeed very important in this language and it can be used to improve our English.

Next, our teacher told us to find 2 objects that have a similarity and we have to give 3 examples. What I thought of was 'Bird and Aeroplane' This 2 things can fly in the sky, thus they are both quite the same.

Next will be 'light and Sun' Both of this gives off light energy so that we can see clearly.

Last example is 'Tree and House' this 2 have a similarity because both of them provides shelter, just that Tree provides shelter to insects and animals while house provides shelter to humans.

I have learned a lot from this lesson as it requires us to think hard, testing our creativity.
